A French painter of Corsican origin born on 9 April 1944, Jean-Marie Zacchi works across figuration and abstraction: landscapes, urban and architectural views, seascapes and still lifes. A graduate of the École supérieure des arts modernes in 1965, influenced by de Staël, Picasso and Buffet, he was appointed painter of the French Army in 1991 and official painter of the French Navy in 2003. His work is one of « figurative transposition », leaving the eye free to imagine and dream.
